ClockWise – Clock, Calendar, Scheduler
Review by on
Founded back in ’92 by Richard and Pamela Joseph, RJ Software is a company that prides itself on providing “high quality software utilities and technical support at reasonable prices”. In creating these software applications, Richard Joseph (see where the RJ in RJ Software comes from?) uses the experience he accumulated during his 20 years service in the US Navy.

Switching focus away from RJ and onto the software, one application RJ Software markets is ClockWise. Here are the bits and pieces you need to know about this piece of software.

First of all, you need to know that the download is quite lightweight – it weighs in at less than 1MB, so even on a lousy internet connection it should complete in no time at all. Next you need to know that ClockWise is meant to be used on top of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system. In this regard the software application should work just fine with all Windows versions.

Once you have the app downloaded and installed on your system, you need to know what it can do for you. From a functionality point of view, ClockWise offers the following:
  • It displays a clock, which tells you what time it is. The cool thing is that the clock shows you what time it is all over the world (you know how pesky time zones can be). The clock is always accurate because ClockWise comes with built-in synchronization to Net time servers.
  • It displays a calendar, so you know what day it is. The calendar comes with templates for over 50 different countries and will keep you updated on all public and federal holidays.
  • It displays the sunrise and sunset time.
  • You can setup alarms and schedule events. For example you can schedule a computer restart, or schedule the computer to turn off at a specific time, or schedule the internet connection to be terminated, and so on. Or you can simply instruct ClockWise to display a reminder at a specific time.

The only thing that may put you off from getting ClockWise is the fact that it is now freeware. Test the software free of charge for 30 days though and see if it meets your requirements. I am certain you will not be disappointed.

Pros
  • Lightweight download
  • Display time, date, sunrise and sunset time, world time.
  • Calendar
  • Scheduler
  • Set up tasks to be performed at specific times (computer shutdown for example).
  • Easy to use interface

Cons
  • Free to use only during the 30-day trial period
  • Nag screen
